Features of functioning of system in the radio reception mode


General information

Functioning of the radio receiver is possible only in provisions of ON and ASS of the lock of ignition.

Such factors as signal power, removal from the next repeater, presence nearby of bridge farms, high-rise buildings and other sources of passive hindrances exert impact on purity of reproduction.

The most typical source of active hindrances is the mobile phone which use in interior of the car can have significant effect on quality of radio reception.

It is necessary to draw the attention of the reader also to the fact that some physical features of distribution of radio waves (both frequency, and amplitude modulation), are capable to exert impact on purity of their reception in the moving vehicle irrespective of the fact of existence of hindrances and level of the used equipment.

Remember that the moving car is not an ideal object for reception of radio waves. Owing to movement of a condition of reception continuously change. From time to time in close proximity there are large structures and heights exerting negative impact on distribution of electromagnetic radiation — even moving in the neighbourhood or towards the vehicle can exert impact on quality of reception.


Features of distribution of radio waves of the ultrashort range (FM)

When using the radio receiver in FM range limit removal from the next repeater is the distance of 40 — 48 km.

In the monophonic mode range of reception can increase a little in comparison with a stereophonics. Presence of sources of passive and active hindrances can exert impact on quality of radio reception even within a 40-kilometer zone. Power of a frequency-modulated (FM) signal mainly is defined by removal from a source the principle of distribution of very high frequency is similar to the principle of distribution of light, so, for example, they have ability to be reflected from various objects.

Attenuation and shift of the bearing frequency: In process of removal of the car from a source of radiation of radio waves the signal tends to attenuation and shift of the bearing frequency.

Such radio waves have ability not to be reflected (to get through their distribution which is found on the way objects), but to be reflected from Earth ionosphere. Told means that these signals are also subject to an interference on the way from a source to the receiver.

Attenuation: Attenuation of reception in the low-frequency range can arise at the movement of the car under overpasses and road outcomes, and also among high-rise buildings, besides, short decrease in level of reception can be caused by turbulent indignations of an ionosphere even in the flat area.

The most typical example of the static hindrances having significant effect on purity of radio reception in the range of AM are lightning discharges, and also high-voltage power lines and even traffic light objects.


Use of the audio system


Features of some constructive decisions

Reception of a signal in VHF range often is followed by the strong noise connected with good reflection of very high frequency from various obstacles. The system of double reception based on two antennas is applied to improvement of quality of reception. The first antenna represents the ordinary telescopic antenna. The second antenna — wire type — is pasted on back glass of the car. The system automatically switches to that antenna which provides the best quality of reception at present.

In a recorder prefix the head from nikelezhelezny alloy (permally), providing high purity of reproduction in the range of high frequencies is applied. Decrease in noise level it is provided also due to use of system of noise reduction of Dolby NR — filters of the Dolby NR brand are manufactured according to the license of Dolby corporation, the inscription Dolby NR and a symbol in the form of double D are trademarks of this corporation. The contour of automatic adjustment of intensity of sounding provides additional improvement of quality of reproduction in the range of low frequencies both in the radio reception mode, and when listening magnetic and laser records.


Inclusion sounding food / volume control

Turn the ignition key in position of ON or ASS, then press the ON-OFF/VOL button at the left on the audio system control panel (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) — the system will automatically pass into that mode of reproduction (radio receiver / tape recorder / CD player) in which it was disconnected (if the cartridge or a compact disk are not loaded into the corresponding loader, the radio reception mode is activated). Repeated pressing the button leads to shutdown of system.

Volume control of sounding is made by rotation of the ON-OFF/VOL handle.


Adjustment of a timbre of sounding and balance of a sound


Balancing of distribution of a sound and adjustment of a timbre of sounding

Switching of the modes of adjustment of BASS (basses), TRE (high frequencies), FAD (balance between forward and back loudspeakers) and BAL (balance between the right and left loudspeakers) is made by means of the AUDIO button on the right on the audio system control panel (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) — on the screen of the display the inscription of the corresponding content will be highlighted.

Order of switching of the modes — see the illustration Balancing of Distribution of a Sound and Adjustment of a Timbre of Sounding. Actually adjustment, after the choice of the required mode, is carried out by means of two buttons and.

10 seconds later the system will automatically return to the usual mode of reproduction (radio / tape recorder / CD player). Compulsory return to the reproduction mode after implementation of necessary adjustments can be made by a nazhimaniye on the AUDIO button the required number of times.


Rules of use of system in the radio reception mode


Choice of range

Switching of the frequency range (FM1/FM2/AM) is made by means of the FM/AM button on the audio system control panel (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) — at a nazhimaniye to this button at the included ignition (ON or ASS) the radio receiver automatically will pass to reproduction of that radio station at which frequency it was switched off.

Besides to result will give pressing the ON-OFF/VOL button if in the corresponding loaders there are no cartridge or a compact disk.

At a nazhimaniye on the FM/AM button during playing of magnetic or laser record this reproduction will automatically be interrupted and the system will pass into the radio receiver mode at a frequency of the last chosen radio station.

Highlighting on the screen of the display of a symbol of ST means that reception is conducted in the stereophonic mode — at decrease in signal strength the system automatically switches in monophonic reception.


Mode of manual control

Manual control of frequency of radio reception is carried out by means of buttons and on the right on the audio system control panel (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose). Pressing of buttons changes the frequency of the accepted signal to one step up or down. For bystry viewing of frequencies hold the corresponding button pressed within more than 0.5 seconds.

Setup of the radio receiver should not be made by the driver during the movement!


Mode of search / viewing


Search (SEEK)

The short-term nazhimaniye on one of buttons of the SEEK/SCAN switch or at the left on the audio system control panel (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) leads to inclusion of the mode of automatic search of active radio stations. Viewing of frequencies is made as their increase or reduction depending on what of buttons was pressed. At identification of active frequency search stops and the system passes into the broadcasting mode — in case of need press the corresponding button once again.


Viewing (SCAN)

Keeping of any of the buttons mentioned above pressed within more than 1.5 seconds leads to activation browse mode of range of radio frequencies (see above). In this mode the system automatically looks through all range of frequencies of the tuner, doing 10-second demonstration stops on each of active channels. Getting out of browse mode with a stop at the chosen frequency is made by repeated pressing of the same button.


Function of storing of radio stations


Setup of the radio receiver for favourite radio stations

The radio receiver allows to record six radio stations in each of ranges of frequencies (FM1/FM2/AM).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of the TUNE or SEEK/SCAN buttons (see above) be adjusted on the desirable station.
  2. Press and hold pressed before reproduction of a short sound signal any of six buttons of the storing / choice of favourite radio stations in the lower part of the control panel of the audio system (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) — at a nazhimaniye on the button reproduction has to stop.
  3. After completion of process of storing of the display the indicator of the relevant channel is displayed (for example, ch2 — see the illustration Setup of the Radio Receiver for Favourite Radio Stations), and reproduction is resumed.
  4. Installation of the remained six channels is made in a similar manner.

At power off of the radio receiver or knocking-out of a safety lock memory of the radio receiver is erased. In this case it is necessary to repeat the procedure of control for favourite radio stations.


Rules of use of system in the mode of reproduction of magnetic records

Install the ignition key in the provision of "ASS" or "ON" and horizontally fill the cartridge in a kassetopriyemnik — the cartridge will automatically be involved in a nest by the loader.

It is not necessary to use force when filling the cartridge! Right after loading of a tape record reproduction will begin — if until loading of the cartridge the system worked in the mode of broadcasting or playing of laser records, change of the mode will also happen automatically.

If to make shutdown of system by pressing the ON-OFF/VOL button and not to take the cartridge from a kassetopriyemnik, then at repeated inclusion of food reproduction of the interrupted record from a magnetic tape will continue.


Activation of reproduction of the magnetic record (TAPE)

Pressing the TAPE button (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) at the loaded cartridge and the switched-off system leads to activation of the mode of reproduction of the magnetic record.

Pressing the TAPE button at the loaded cartridge at the activated mode of broadcasting or reproduction of laser records will give to automatic switchings of the mode and to the beginning of reproduction of the magnetic record.

By means of the same button it is possible to pass into the mode of normal reproduction from the modes of the accelerated scrolling (FF/REW) and automatic search (APS FF/APS REW).


Function of accelerated forward (FF) and returnable (REW) rewind of a film

Activation of the mode of the accelerated rewind of a film in the corresponding direction is made by pressing the button or audio system control panels — in the Right Sector of the screen of the display the corresponding pictogram will be highlighted. For return to the mode of normal reproduction press on a touch the button once again, or use the TAPE button (see above).


Function of search of the beginning of records (APS)

The APS function allows to pass to the beginning of records automatically.

At a nazhimaniye on the button (APS FF) during reproduction there is a transition to the beginning of the next record on a magnetic tape. For the admission of several records press the required number of times the APS FF button (the possibility of the admission to 9 records is allowed).

Single pressing the button (APS REW) allows to pass to repetition of reproduction of the current record. Repeated pressing the button carry out transition to the beginnings of higher records.

At activation of the APS mode in the Right Sector of the screen the inscription of the corresponding content (FF or REW) is highlighted.

For an exit from the mode of search and return to the mode of normal reproduction press on a touch the button once again, or use the TAPE button (see above).

The APS function can not work in the following cases:

  • Level of record is too low;
  • On a tape informal conversation is written down;
  • Intervals between records make less than 4 seconds;
  • Pauses between records too long;
  • Record goes without intervals;
  • The pause is filled with a strong noise background.


Change of the direction of scrolling of a tape (PROG)

Pressing the PROG button leads to switching of the direction of scrolling of a magnetic tape.

Automatic switchings of the direction of rotation of a tape (automatic reversion) occurs at its end.

By pressing the PROG button in the mode of the accelerated rewind of FF or REW there is a return to the mode of normal reproduction.


System of suppression of noise Dolby NR

If the magnetic record is coded on the Dolby NR system, then for elimination of high-frequency noise of a tape press the DOLBY NR button — on the screen of the display the corresponding symbol will be highlighted.

Filters of the Dolby NR brand are produced according to the license of Dolby corporation. The inscription Dolby NR and double D are trademarks of this corporation.


Use of the metallized and chromeplated tapes

When using the Metal or Chrome cartridge the system automatically switches in the mode of the increased quality of reproduction.


Extraction of the cartridge

Press the button of emission of the cartridge — reproduction of the magnetic record stops, and the cartridge jumps out from a kassetopriyemnik with simultaneous shutdown of giving of food.

When playing cartridges with the metallized or chromeplated tape the player automatically switches to the mode of high-quality reproduction. During playing of such tapes the corresponding indicator burns.


Precautionary measures when using the cassette player

  • To keep high quality of sounding use cartridges lasting reproduction less than 60 minutes.
  • It is not necessary to leave the cartridge in the player. You store cartridges in protective covers and do not allow hit on them direct sunlight, heat, moisture and magnetic materials.
  • When heating from solar radiation the cartridge can be deformed and become unsuitable for use.
  • Do not use the cartridge with the lagging behind stickers which can get stuck in the player.
  • If the tape in the cartridge was weakened, insert a pencil into one of rewinding naves and densely reel up a tape on the cartridge roller. The weakened tape can hesitate that will worsen quality of its sounding.
  • Eventually reading out, tightening and capstans become soiled fragments of a magnetic layer of the passing tape. Such polluting stratification leads to easing and distortion of reproduction in view of what heads should be cleared periodically by means of the special cartridge.


Rules of use of system in the CD player mode

Turn a key in position of ON or ASS and fill a compact disk in a loading crack of the disk drive with the title party up — the disk has to be involved automatically by the loader and begin to be lost.

Right after loading of a disk of the display the quantity of the paths which are written down on it and reproduction time is displayed.

If at the time of loading the audio system worked in the mode of broadcasting or reproduction of magnetic records, change of the mode will happen also automatically.

Do not try to push a disk in the disk drive by force at all!

If to make shutdown of system by pressing the ON-OFF/VOL button and not to take a disk from the disk drive, then at repeated inclusion of food reproduction of laser records will begin with the established disk.

Without use of transitional adapters disks of two standards can be loaded into system: 4-3/4 inches (12 cm) and 3-1/8 inches (8 cm).


Activation of reproduction of laser records


Models without CD changer

Nazhimaniye on the CD/CHG button (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) at the switched-off audio system and the loaded compact disk leads to start of reproduction of laser records.

If at the time of pressing the button at the loaded disk the system worked in the mode of broadcasting or reproduction of the magnetic record, there will be a change of the mode and reproduction of records will begin with a disk.


Models with a CD changer

At the CD changer connected to system with the disks loaded into it, the filled disk drive of the player and the switched-off food pressing the CD/CHG button leads to activation of that mode in which the system was stopped.

If at the time of pressing the button the system worked in play mode of laser records from the disk filled in the player disk drive, the current reproduction will stop and the system will switch in the changer mode. At the opposite entering data the fairly return.

If the disk is filled only in the player disk drive, and the loader of a changer is empty, then pressing the CD/CHG button at the switched-off food of system will lead to activation of the player. If at the time of pressing the button the player worked, reproduction will stop, and the display in the flashing mode the message of NO DISC will be displayed. After a while the system will return to reproduction of the interrupted record from the disk player loaded into the disk drive again (the message of NO DISC from the screen will disappear).

If when pressing the CD/CHG button at the switched-off food only the changer loader is filled, there will be an activation of the last.

Pressing the CD/CHG button at empty loaders both the player, and a changer leads to a conclusion in the flashing mode to the screen of the display of the message of NO DISC.

If at the time of pressing the button at the loaded player and/or a changer the system worked in the mode of broadcasting or reproduction of the magnetic record, there will be a change of the mode and reproduction of laser records will begin with disks of a player or a changer.


Function of the accelerated scrolling in forward (FF) or the returnable direction (REW)

Pressing the button or control panels of the audio system will bring to reproduction of records with the accelerated scrolling in the corresponding direction. At a button otpuskaniye the system comes back to the mode of normal reproduction.


Function of search of the beginning of records (APS)

The APS function allows to pass to the beginning of records automatically.

At a nazhimaniye on the button (APS FF) during reproduction there is a transition to the beginning of the next record on a disk. For the admission of several records press the APS FF button the required number of times (at a transmission of the last path on a disk the system passes to the beginning of the first).

Single pressing the button (APS REW) allows to pass to repetition of reproduction of the current record. Further pressing the button carry out transition to the beginnings of higher records.


Change of the scheme of reproduction of paths (PROG)

Pressing the PROG button leads to switching of the scheme of reproduction of the paths which are written down on a disk.

At absence on the screen of the display of any tags of a path will be consistently reproduced as their record on a disk.

Conclusion to the screen of a tag 1 means that the scheme of reproduction of the only (current) record in its continuous repetition is chosen.

When highlighting the message of RANDOM of a path will be it is made in a casual order that does not exclude probability of repetition of the same record twice.

At extraction of a compact disk the mode of consecutive reproduction of paths is automatically set (tags are absent).


Extraction of a compact disk

Press the button of emission of a disk — reproduction stops, and the disk is pushed out by the loader with simultaneous shutdown of giving of food.

If the disk which is pushed out by the loader is not taken in time, after a while there will be an automatic retraction in the disk drive.


Indicator of existence of a disk in the disk drive (CD IN)

The message of CD IN is displayed the display at the included food and the compact disk loaded into the player disk drive.


Precautionary measures when using the CD player

  • In cold and rainy weather owing to increase in humidity of air there can be refusals of functioning of the player — take a disk from the disk drive and carefully ventilate and dry the player.
  • At the movement on an uneven paving there can be admissions of reproduction of laser records.
  • Failures of the player can happen also at excessively high temperature in interior of the car — turn on the conditioner of air and reduce temperature.
  • Do not allow impact on compact disks of direct sunlight.
  • Quality of reproduction of laser records considerably depends on a condition of a compact disk — try not to allow emergence on a surface of a disk of scratches, fingerprints, dirt raids, etc.
  • Use of the 8-santimetrogvy transitional adapter can lead to a system exit out of operation.
  • The system does not give the chance of listening of the paths which are written down on compact disks of the CD-R standard.


Rules of use of system in the CD changer mode


Installation / extraction of shop

Fill a disk in shop of a CD changer with the title party up (see below).

Insert shop into a reception nest of a CD changer and close a movable cover. For extraction of shop it is necessary to press the EJECT button.


Order of loading / extraction of disks

Develop a disk the title party up and accurately fill it in any of free nests of shop. At correct there will be a pushing out outside of the white rychazhk marked with an asterisk.

For extraction of a disk from shop delay a white rychazhok — take the disk which moved forward from a reception nest of shop manually.


Try not to touch with fingers a working surface of a disk!
Use of the transitional adapter for 8-centimeter disks can lead to a system exit out of operation!


Activation of reproduction of laser records

See above the subsection "Rules of Use of System in the CD Player Mode".


Change of the disk which is subject to reproduction

By a nazhimaniye on these buttons (see the illustration Control Panel of the Audio System of a Basic Equipment Bose) change of the compact disk which is subject to reproduction is made (from among filled in shop of a CD changer).


Other functions

Scrolling of paths (FF and REW), transition to the beginning of records (APS FF and APS REW) and the choice of the scheme of reproduction (PROG) are made in the manner similar described above for the player mode.


Electromechanical reception antenna

Before turning on the radio receiver it is necessary to be convinced that near an exit of the antenna there are no people and that the mast of the antenna can move forward without hindrances.

Vydvigany antennas occurs automatically at turning on of the radio receiver. Switching off of the tuner leads to automatic retracting the antenna. If radio is not switched off, the antenna moves forward and cleans up at turn of the ignition key in the provision of "ON" or "OFF".

In order to avoid damage of the antenna in the course of an automatic wash of the car it is necessary to make sure previously that she is moved completely away.

Sticking to a mast of the antenna of dirt and foreign objects can lead to jamming of the electric drive. From time to time wipe a mast with the humidified pure rags.

On the models equipped with an onboard communicator of Infiniti the drive of the antenna can automatically join at shutdown and connection of the battery.


CB radio stations and radio telephones — the general information and precautionary measures


General information

At installation of Infiniti radio telephone which is included in a basic equipment the microphone of not directed type is built in assembly of the forward saloon lamp that in combination with the control panel of functioning of phone installed on a steering wheel (see Governing bodies and the equipment of salon) allows the driver to conduct negotiations, without distracting from process of management of the car — cm the instruction for use of a radio telephone. On back glass some models the application antenna for negotiating by the built-in mobile phone is fabrichno pasted.


Precautionary measures

When using on the car of the mobile phone or CB radio station, in order to avoid violation of serviceability of functioning of a control system of the engine it is necessary to observe some special precautionary measures:

  • Try to place the antenna of mobile phone / radio station on the greatest possible removal from the electronic module of engine management (ECM);
  • Track that at installation of the antenna it settled down at a distance of not less than 20 cm from PCME electrical wiring plait. Try to lay an antenna cable out of routes of laying of an other electrical wiring;
  • You make control of coefficient of standing waves of the antenna strictly according to the instructions attached to the corresponding device;
  • You make grounding of CB radio station on the mass of the chassis or a body of the car;
