8.1.4. Removal and installation of transmission

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Remove the sensor of provision of a bent shaft (OBD) from the top part of transmission — try not to damage edges of the sensor.
  3. Remove forward and back sections of system of production of the fulfilled gases (see the illustration Scheme of an Arrangement of Driveshafts and Components of System of Production of the Fulfilled Gases).
  4. Pick up from assembly of AT the charging phone of ATF and a tube of a cooler of ATF — at once to a zakuporta the open ends of lines and unions in order to avoid hit in system of dirt.
  5. Remove driveshafts (see the illustration Scheme of an Arrangement of Driveshafts and Components of System of Production of the Fulfilled Gases).
  6. Remove driving draft from the transfer case. Right after removal of the back driveshaft to a zakuporta an omental opening, try not to damage an epiploon and vents of the sliding driveshaft collar.
  7. Remove a cable of the drive of switchings from transmission.
  8. Disconnect an electrical wiring from transmission and the VSS sensor.
  9. Remove a starter.
  10. Remove a knitsa and a back plate of fastening of transmission to the engine.
  11. Turn out bolts of fastening of the hydrotransformer to a driving disk — for the purpose of ensuring serial access to bolts turn a bent shaft.
  1. Prop up AT a special transmission jack.
  1. Disconnect a back support of a suspension bracket of the power unit from transmission.
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine.
  3. Lower transmission assembled with the transfer case and take it from under the car.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of the dial measuring instrument of plunger type estimate the size of a side beating of a driving disk. Compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications (see. Transmission line), in case of need make replacement of a disk assembled with a gear wreath.
  1. Before connection of the hydrotransformer to a driving disk check depth of landing of the last "And" — the minimum admissible value makes 26.0 mm.
  1. Install the hydrotransformer, then several times turn a bent shaft for check of freedom of rotation of transmission.
  1. Tighten bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine with the required effort.

    Length of bolts (l), mm:
    1 — 47.5
    2 — 58.0
    3 — 25.0
    Bolts of fastening of a knitsa to the engine — 20.0

  1. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
  2. In conclusion check the ATF level (see the Head Routine maintenance) and make sure of serviceability of functioning of the lever of the selector.
  3. Squeeze out the parking brake and start the engine on single turns. Serially switch the selector lever to each of working provisions ("N"> "D"> "2"> "1"> "R") — at each switching the lever has to twitch slightly.
  4. Make trial runs of the car.
