Design of a power shaft of a forward axis

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a protective cover of a nave from a wheel which power shaft needs service. Remove a lock ring of fastening of a power shaft. Release nuts of fastening of a wheel.
  2. Car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on props and remove a wheel (see the illustration Scheme of an Institution of Props for fixing of the car in the lifted situation). Release a nut and bolts of fastening of cross draft.
  3. Slightly tapping with the hammer with soft (brass) brisk, beat out a power shaft from assembly of a rotary fist if the shaft does not give in, use a stripper.
  4. From the inside of a shaft turn out bolts of fastening of the sliding shaft hinge casing to a side flange.
  5. Having pulled, separate a shaft from a side flange of the main transfer.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Slightly tapping at the edges of the sliding hinge casing, remove its sealing face cover. Shoot bandage films (collars) of fastening of protective covers.
  2. Mark adjusting position of the holder (crosspiece) of the hinge of rather sliding casing and a pin of a power shaft.
  3. Remove a lock ring from a shaft pin, then by means of a suitable press remove a hinge crosspiece.
  4. Remove a casing of the sliding flange and protective covers.
  5. Mark the adjusting provision of assembly of the external hinge and accurately separate the last from a shaft pin, having used for this purpose the hammer with sliding brisk and a suitable stripper.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Carefully wash out shaft components in solvent and dry with use of compressed air.
  2. Examine components on existence of signs of deformation and damages. Replace defective units.
  3. In case of identification of cracks or signs of twisting replace a bar of a power shaft.
  4. Estimate a condition of protective covers of CV JOINTS, in case of need make replacement.

Authors of the present manual recommend to replace protective covers regardless of their state. Prepare new bandage tapes of fastening of protective covers.

  1. In case of detection of defects of the sliding casing of the internal CV JOINT it is subject to replacement complete with the hinge (assembly of a crosspiece). The external CV JOINT is not subject to dismantling and recovery repair and in case of failure is replaced assembled.

Assembly

Internal CV JOINT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wind the parts of a shaft equipped with notches with an insulating tape for protection new protective covers from damage.
  2. Put a protective cover of the CV JOINT and fix it on a shaft by a new bandage tape.
  3. Establish the sliding casing of hinged assembly.
  4. Establish the CV JOINT crosspiece — having tracked correctness of combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle, densely put a crosspiece the party equipped with a facet inside.
  5. Establish a new lock ring.
  6. Fill in hinged assembly 95 — 105 grams of lubricant from a remnabor, then establish a new sealing face cover.
  7. Pull a cover on a casing (edges of a cover have to get to reception flutes on a shaft and a hinge casing) and fix it by a new bandage tape — track that the cover was not overwound. The cover stretches on a hinge casing so that its full length made 95 — 97 mm.

External CV JOINT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Put a protective cover of the CV JOINT and fix it on a shaft by a new bandage tape.
  2. Wind the parts of a shaft equipped with notches with an insulating tape for protection new protective covers from damage.
  3. Begin to knock hinged assembly on a shaft pin — track correctness of combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle. Establish a new lock ring.
  4. Fill in the hinge 135 — 145 grams of lubricant from a remnabor, then pull a cover on the CV JOINT and fix by a new bandage tape — the full length of a cover has to make 96 — 98 mm.

Installation

Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Track correctness of tightening of fixture.
